President's Welcome
CTAT... Foundation of Progress Teamwork - Knowledge - Flexibility
Greetings Fellow
Treasurers,
I must begin my first
address to you all by saying how very proud I am to be your President. It
is an honor and a privilege to be considered worthy of the title and I will do
all that I can to represent you in a manner of those that served before
me.
Sometimes we feel like
it is a repeat to tell everyone over and over how important certain aspects of
our job are but we must educate those entering this profession as well as those
of us that sometimes "forgot" why we are here and how important we are to
county government. We will once gain apply ourselves toward legislation
that defines core duties of the treasurer. A new task force has been
brought together to work hand-in-hand with auditors to accomplish all that we
can in this area.
I also feel I need to
say that we must first police our own organization keeping each other above
board and aware of the necessity of making the constituents proud of the
treasurers' standing in our individual counties and glad that the votes they
cast for us were not in vain.
Finally my theme for
the year is three-fold. Teamwork is a necessity in our profession, we must
work at relationships among our peers as well as among ourselves - knowledge is
mandatory as we all must know our job to be able to do our job, and flexibility
- possibly the hardest of all because it is sometimes necessary to change with
the times and the circumstances.
Here's to you all for
a fantastic year ahead of us. May God Bless you and look on you with great
favor.
