County Treasurers' Association of Texas
Promoting Education - Enhancing Communication - Encouraging Cooperation
A Message from the President:
I believe that the main goal of the County Treasurers’ Association of Texas is to promote continuing education, training, and support to our colleagues; to communicate with each other in order to provide and disseminate pertinent information to the entire membership; and to encourage others to cooperate and participate in the advancement of the association. I look forward to a great year and ask each of you for your cooperation in fulfilling this belief. At times we must go above and beyond the call of duty for the greater good of the association. I ask you to join me in ensuring the success of CTAT.
I am truly honored to be representing you as President of this great association for the following year. We have worked so hard for so many years to be the credible association that we are today. The sixty-two people that formed this association in 1949 had the foresight to organize - they had a vision for CTAT and we must continue to work towards the advancement of their goals. I thank you for this opportunity and invite you to be a part of the leadership team.
The County Treasurers’ Creed reads as follows: “Charity we believe is life’s greatest virtue; the public good –its noblest motive; and liberty under the law – its richest legacy; our creed is actually molded by what we love; thus, we believe that love toward God and our fellowman fulfills the highest purpose of life”. To this I am truly committed.
I extend my hand in friendship to each and every one of you and look forward to a great year. I would like to thank all those that accepted to serve on the different committees, the regional directors, sector directors, the executive committee members, and those of you that volunteer and step up to help even if you are not a part of the board of directors. That is the spirit that we need to instill in the new members of our association. I consider these new members to be “nuggets of gold” and we need them to become the future leaders of this association.
Again, I look forward to a great year and know that if I need your help, I will certainly ask!

Sincerely,
Norma G. Garcia
Hidalgo County Treasurer
CTAT President 2011 - 2012
